Former Headmaster Eric Bennett (1957 – 1970) sadly passed away on October 8th 2005, aged 94. He was the third headmaster in the history of the school and oversaw many changes as education developed during the 1960’s, in particular with the rapid expansion in the number of pupils progressing to university. He leaves a widow Ria and sons Anthony and Stephen to whom we send our sincere sympathy

SO STRANGE BENNETT THAT A CERTAIN ERIC BENNETT FEATURES NOWHERE IN DISPATCHES ABOUT BEING ANYWHERE NEAR ITALY, OR ANY GERMAN AT THE TIME THE GERMANS SURRENDERED.
ALSO WHAT IS STRANGE IS THAT THERE IS DEFINITELY NO MAJOR BENNETT WHO WAS ANYWHERE NEAR ITALY. DIDN'T YOU THINK THAT IT WOULD BE EASY TO CHECK YOU IDIOT.
SO I CHALLENGE YOU TO NAME HIS REGIMENT HE SERVED IN AND THE BATTALION.
SO WOULD YOU LIKE TO REVISE WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT YOUR FATHERS ROLE IN THE WAR BENNETT, OR ARE YOU STILL GOING TO LIE.
OH YES BENNETT REMEMBER YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO POST UP THE PROOF THAT YOUR FATHER WAS THERE.......STILL WAITING YOU LITTLE WEASEL.
