A WINTERTON man has been placed on the sex offender's register, after he admitted possessing child pornography.
Andrew Westoby (25), of West Street, admitted a charge of possessing indecent photographs of children, an offence committed between August and November 1996.
Following the admission, Judge Michael Heath, presiding at Grimsby Crown Court, told him a denied allegation of taking indecent photographs would lie on file.
The case was adjourned for reports and Westoby was released on bail, with the condition he resides at his home address.
But, Judge Heath warned him: "The fact that I granted you bail does not mean I won't be sending you to prison when I come to sentence you.''
He told Westoby that, because of the nature of the admission, the new sex offender's act applied.
