The undisturbed Lichen

Lichen (pronounced Liken) are composite organisms like fungus or algae.

The window sill outside the window Kate claimed she found open, was covered in it.
Forensic examinations confirmed that the Lichen was untouched.
How could anyone have climbed out of that window, without scuffing the Lichen?
Why bother opening the window in the first place, if you have no intention of using it?
Strange don't you think, that the only fingerprints found on the outside window pane, belonged to Kate McCann.
Even if someone is wearing rubber gloves, a trace will be left, but nothing was found there.
